The History of Frimas

The History of Frimas

The author, a nurse by profession now retired, had given herself the retirement project of writing stories for her grandchildren. After having written five “traditional” stories, now she branched off into stories for children with health problems.

It was then that the story of Choconours, the diabetic teddy bear, was born, followed by the asthmatic frog, the deaf elephant, the turtle wearing a heart pacemaker, the blind pony, the leukemic filly, the disabled dog, the kangaroo with an open heart surgery, the dog whose grandfather died, the cat whose newborn brother died, the allergic squirrel, the hyperactive monkey, the female piglet with cystic fibrosis, the unconfident hedgehog, the abused cane, the fearful lion cub and the bespectacled blue jay the first seventeen of a long series of tales, having as their theme the various physical illnesses and psychological problems affecting children. Here she presents the eighteenth tale from the Enfant Santé collection, The Story of Frimas, the emperor penguin, at the acupuncturist's.

Many other tales are in the making, for the greater benefit of sick children and their parents.
